I think it is beneficial for libraries to have either a Facebook page or blog, to keep their members and general visitors up to date with the latest information and upcoming events. I don’t think you’d need BOTH though; just one of them would suffice.
My personal favorite is Pinterest, as used by my local Randwick City Library (see Task 6 below). I think it’s better than Instagram, as you can categorize and build on various ‘boards’. It is quite eye-catching with lots of interesting images.
